While A to Z Literacy Movement works to increase the love of reading in Zambia, Africa, we are improving the literacy lives of children locally as well. Through multicultural stories shared with elementary students to partnering with the Youth and Family Center of McHenry County in our Summer Storyboost, we are active in our local community. A to Z has participated in The Clinic for the last seven years, giving away books to families in need and has provided over 200 literacy book bags for children at risk. Additionally, we continue to provide free books to students in School District 47 who attend summer schools. The books supplement their at-home libraries to promote the love of reading.
