“Literacy is at the heart of sustainable development.” — Kofi Annan
This year we will:
Provide school lunches for approximately 160 pupils for six months- $1890
Entirely fund the yearly salary of two Zambian teachers - $3500
Ship over 3000 books to classrooms, libraries, and children's camps in Zambia. Cost
to ship a box of books = $4995
Remodel and replenish small library for after school program in northern Illinois
Daily, A to Z Literacy Movement and its partners provide education and support to
over 100 Zambian children. Your tax deductible contribution will improve these children’s
lives. Will you help?
A to Z members have been steadily accomplishing goals locally
In McHenry County, volunteers have installed bookshelves and organized the books
we've donated to the library at Garden Quarter. (www.gardenquarter.org)
After collecting, sorting, boxing, and mailing, shipments of books have been received
in Zambia, Ghana, and Uganda. Funding has also been received at Shine Academy for
lunches and quality educators.
While our annual On the Vine fundraising event has
been quite a success in the past, we have decided to change things up this year.
Stay tuned for exciting news about this year's fun in February!
