Are you crafty?

• Create “Book in a Bag” kits for younger students to read along in a book and listen to the story on a cd created by you.

• Make cards for children in orphan homes or at a school. (For holiday cards, please allow 4 weeks delivery.

• Encourage knitting groups, sewing groups, or craft groups to make items for kids in Africa.

• Have students (or adults) make bookmarks for kids in Zambia.

 

Fundraise at school/work...

• Host a dodgeball tournament at school or church.

• Host a Read-a-Thon and gather donations.

• CrAtoZy Sock Day – Invite students to wear crazy socks to school and then donate $1 for shipping costs or school lunch programs.

• Candy-Grams – sell Skittles, lollipops, or whatever sounds good for a special occasion.

• Host a Coins for a Cause collection.

 

Donate...

• Donate jump ropes, soccer balls, or other recess toys.

• Donate word games like Bananagrams, Scrabble, or UpWords.

• Donate money for student scholarships. One year of schooling costs $350.

• Donate items for the big prize basket at our annual fundraiser.

• Donate sporting event or theatre tickets for the silent auction at our annual fundraiser.

 

Fundraise at home…

• Host a “charity” birthday party (or any celebration). Invite guests to bring a new book and $2 to help with shipping it to Zambia

• “Souper-Bowl Sunday” – gather loose change Super Bowl weekend to donate for school lunch at Shine Reading Academy.

• Host a Talent & Music Night with young musicians showing off their skills while parents and friends enjoy the music.
